Alex Brown Died Texting and Driving: Family on ‘Extreme Makeover Home Edition’ with Justin Bieber

Alex Brown is a victim of texting and driving. It is not worth your or somebody else’s life to text while driving. Unfortunately Jeanne and Johnny Brown have learned this lesson the hard way because their daughter died while texting and driving in 2009.

Jeanne Brown said, “Alex made choices and those choices cost her her life. The last thing I could do for my daughter was pick out her headstone.” Unfortunately it is a choice that many of you make every single day, and it hasn’t cost you your life yet, but someday it could. Alex died at the young age of 17 in a rollover accident while she was on her normal route to school. The teen was texting and driving at the time.

Brown’s family were on “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” with Justin Bieber. They promote a product called “Get Home Safe” for $99 which allows parents to block cell phone messages if their child’s car is moving. Another such product that is available as a cell phone app for a mere $3.99 is called OTTER. Finally, T-Mobile also offers a service that works to block texting while driving. The cost is $4.99 per month.

There are many options available, but if you can’t trust yourself or your child not to text and drive, it is worth investing in one of these options to help protect yourself, your family and others. If you are tempted, remember Alex Brown, and what her family has gone through. You do not want to cause your own or somebody else’s family to deal with something this horrible.

I just wanted to let you know that your family has inspired me. I USED to text and drive all the time, thinking nothing bad will ever happen to me. You guys made me realize that it is not smart or responsible to take that risk. I have not texted and drove since I have watched the extreme makeover show. I just want to let you know, that i appreciate what you guys are doing! You really impacted me! So thank you! Alex was so gorgeous, and i am sorry you are going through all that pain. And as for you Katrina… You are pretty and a good actress. Keep it up! I hope you have fun at the Justin Bieber Premier… SO JEALOUS!
    Thank you, Brown Family.
