Gaga’s new single
What do you think of ‘Born This Way’?
It’s here.
After months of teases, Lady Gaga’s new single, “Born This Way,” was released on Friday morning.
The track, which shares its title with the pop star’s upcoming album, was first announced at the MTV Video Music Awards in September.
At the time, Gaga sang a few lyrics that suggested the song would be an anthem for gay rights to go along with her vocal support of repealing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell.
But the full version, clocking in at more than four minutes, also tackles other minority issues.
“You’re black, white, beige chola descent/You’re Lebanese, You’re Orient/Whether life’s disabilities/Left you outcast, bullied or teased,” she sings, “Rejoice and love yourself today /Cause baby you were born this way.”
Gaga is set to perform the song at Sunday’s Grammy Awards.
