Now they have his and hers Emmys.
The Primetime Emmy Awards kept things complicated Sunday night, awarding the initial dual trophies of the telecast, live from L.A.’s Nokia Theatre, to Modern Family stars Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell for their superb ancillary roles on the ABC comedy as father and mother Claire and Phil Dunphy.
“I don’t know what I’m going to speak about in therapy now,” Bowen joked as she supposed her award.
Burrell paid loyalty to his late father in his acceptance debate – also with a clarity of humor.
“‘Why do you have to demeanour like a harlot?’ ” he illusory his father wondering about his decision to go into acting, where he frequently has to wear makeup. “I would say, ‘Dad, just think of me as a really manly lady.’ ” His ABC show won the initial 4 awards Sunday night, and Modern Family won best comedy array for the second year in a row.

For the fourth year in a row, Mad Men cumulative its power in the superb play array category, besting HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones, as good as The Good Wife, Friday Night Lights and Dexter. The show has not mislaid this difficulty since it was initial nominated in 2008.
Jim Parsons, of The Big Bang Theory, picked adult superb lead actor in a comedy series, his second Emmy. And Melissa McCarthy, of Mike Molly, warranted her first-ever Emmy for superb lead singer in a comedy series.
Dramatic Wins
Julianna Margulies took home tip thespian singer honors for her purpose in The Good Wife, nabbing superb lead singer in a play series.
For his superb actor win, Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler’s name was squealed by (count-’em) 4 angels – former and new Charlie’s Angels Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor, Annie Ilonzeh and Drew Barrymore.
Sixty-year-old Margo Martindale, who played the tough mom and moonshiner Mags Bennett on Justified, was dumbfounded by her initial Emmy assignment and win.
“Sometimes things just take time, but with time comes great appreciation,” she said fighting behind tears, while also lauding her “kick-ass expel led by Timothy Olyphant.”
Supporting actor in a play array leader Peter Dinklage, meanwhile, had a tough act to follow.
“Wow, we followed Martin Scorsese – my heart is pounding,” he said when usurpation honors for his description of Tyrion on Game of Thrones, thanking network HBO for vouchsafing “artists create.” He also thanked his amazing mother and his “dog sitter, Kitty, for holding caring of my dog Kevin behind in New York while we am here.”
Also earning bragging rights: Guy Pearce and Kate Winslet were both famous for their roles on duration play Mildred Pierce.
