Now they have his and hers Emmys.

The Primetime Emmy Awards kept things complicated Sunday night, awarding the initial dual trophies of the telecast, live from L.A.’s Nokia Theatre, to Modern Family stars Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell for their superb ancillary roles on the ABC comedy as father and mother Claire and Phil Dunphy.

“I don’t know what I’m going to speak about in therapy now,” Bowen joked as she supposed her award.

Burrell paid loyalty to his late father in his acceptance debate – also with a clarity of humor.

Sixty-year-old Margo Martindale, who played the tough mom and moonshiner Mags Bennett on Justified, was dumbfounded by her initial Emmy assignment and win.

“Sometimes things just take time, but with time comes great appreciation,” she said fighting behind tears, while also lauding her “kick-ass expel led by Timothy Olyphant.”

Supporting actor in a play array leader Peter Dinklage, meanwhile, had a tough act to follow.

“Wow, we followed Martin Scorsese – my heart is pounding,” he said when usurpation honors for his description of Tyrion on Game of Thrones, thanking network HBO for vouchsafing “artists create.” He also thanked his amazing mother and his “dog sitter, Kitty, for holding caring of my dog Kevin behind in New York while we am here.”
