Isla Fisher says she felt like an “uncool mom” while she was filming Bachelorette. The movie – which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival – stars Isla, Kirsten Dunst and Lizzy Caplan as high school girls who attend a weekend wedding.
Fisher – who raises Olive, 4, and 1 1/2-year-old Elula with Sacha Baron Cohen – tells The Daily Beast that she was initially concerned with how she’d fit in with Dunst and Lizzie Caplan.
At our first rehearsal, Lizzy and Kiki were all smoking and drinking at 9 a.m. I was like, ‘Oh, god. I just put my 17-month down for a nap and my 4-year-old is off to preschool! I felt like the uncool mom.”
The 35-year-old actress – who plays “brain dead tart Katie” – added that the characters are different from the ones in usual chic flicks.
She says, “They seem to go against what we’ve come to know as romantic-comedy female heroines. They have an ugly side.”
