Kellie Pickler Gives Up Cat Pickles for Her Allergic Husband

She’s made it by her initial year of matrimony to father Kyle Jacobs, and Kellie Pickler is still feeling sum newlywed tranquillity – almost.
“I love Kyle, he’s my best friend,” the nation star told PEOPLE at the New York City phenomenon of a cat sweater to advantage the ASPCA. “The only censure that we would have with my father is that we had to give adult my cat.”
Pickler’s cat, Pickles, had been with the thespian since 2006, when she wrapped American Idol. “I adopted him from an animal preserve out in Tennessee,” she said. “He was my best friend. He went with me everywhere.”
Pickler and Jacobs antiquated for 4 years, and when it came time to make it official, Pickler had to make a choice. “My husband’s allergic to all – he’s, like, allergic to air,” she explained. “So, unfortunately, we had to find my cat Pickles a home with a family behind in North Carolina.”
Saying goodbye to her dear pet wasn’t easy. “I cried, we was devastated,” said Pickler, wearing the cat-themed Kitty Crooner sweater she helped create with conform line Geren Ford. “My husband’s going to be so unhappy when he reads this.”
But the newlywed knows she made the right choice.
“Every time we demeanour at my hand, we go, ‘Good God.’ What’s behind this ring is such umbrella love, trust and respect. we see my father every time we demeanour at my ring. I’m a sanctified lady – we have a good man.”
As for her mislaid cat love, Pickler says she’s vital vicariously by friends with felines and assisting to disciple for her favorite animal.
“Cats kind of get slighted sometimes,” she said. “And there’s the classify about people that love cats – they call us crazy cat ladies. I’m crazy, but it’s not because we love cats.”
