Think of a color. Think of an obscure shade, or even a non-descript one. It was probably represented on the Oscars 2012 red carpet. Paler, more interesting shades like Sarah Hyland‘s rhubarb colored Alberta Feretti dress or Berenice Bejo‘s lovely mint green gown is by Elie Saab. There will defintely be some debates about Penelope Cruz‘s iceberg custom Giorgio Armani organza gown which in itself was old-school Hollywood glamor, but the color on her wasn’t the best choice.
The one’s we’ve really fallen in love with are Viola Davis‘ and Michelle Williams emerald Vera Wang and tangerine Louis Vuitton, respectively. Best dressed all the way. Natalie Portman made us sit up and cheer in her red Dior Haute Couture dress from ‘Rare Vintage’, which is a 1954 collection. Emma Stone also never disappoints. She wore one of her favorite red carpet designers, Giambattista Valli, choosing a a stunning raspberry colored number this time. If you’re in the mood to look at the rest of the rainbow, then feel free to flip through our gallery below. Don’t forget to tell us what you think.
