JARED Followil is getting married!

The rocker is engaged to aspiring model Martha Patterson, his rep said Wednesday.

Jared popped the question on April 11 at his home in Nashville, after just a few months of dating.

He went down on one knee with a four-carat cushion-cut diamond, set on a diamond band, which he designed himself.

“Yes, it’s true! Jared proposed to Martha on April 11 at his home in Nashville and we’re all excited for the newly engaged couple,” said the rep.

Jared wrote on his twitter page, “It’s true! I’m engaged! CANNOT wait to finally lose my virginity (sic).”

The couple plan to divide their time between their homes in Nashville and Los Angeles.

Diehard fans of American Horror Storymight want to mentally pack for chillier weather in the fall – say, a sweater and a straitjacket – because the second season of the shiver-inducing FX series will move the action from sunny southern California to the East Coast … and take place in an asylum run by Jessica Lange.

“[Season 2] is set on the East Coast at an institution for the criminally insane that is run by Jessica,” the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, said during a panel discussion on Wednesday.

Lange won an Golden Globe and a SAG Award for playing the nefarious neighbor to Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton in season one.

Murphy added that the new season will have no connection whatever to the first beside returning cast members (all playing different characters), and that it is set in another period. There’ll be new costars as well, like The Voice judge Adam Levine.

Murphy had already teased that clues to where the second season would be set were hidden in the first season – specifically in a scene involving a fortuneteller explaining how places like asylums and prisons feed on negative energy.

They may not have gotten married yet – but Alec Baldwin and fiancée Hilaria Thomashave jetted off to Rome for a romantic getaway.

Yes, the actor is there for work – promoting the Woody Allen-directed ensemble comedy To Rome with Love, which opens in Italy on April 20 – but that didn’t seem to preclude him and Thomas for making ambitious plans.

“Off for a much needed trip,” he Tweeted at Thomas, 28, on Wednesday.

And she replied, via Twitter: “Good food, vino, cafe, familia, museums, siestas…I can’t wait.”

After touching down Thursday morning with plenty of luggage in tow, Baldwin, 54, continued to express his pleasure at being abroad. “So nice to be in Rome, where the paparazzi don’t step on a baby to get a photo,” he wrote.

Their arrival caught the attention of at least one seemingly admiring (and religious) onlooker. Come si dice “nun” in italiano?

“If you can’t sing Billy Joel, you can’t sing at all,” Steven Tyler said at the start of American IdolWednesday.

Well, the 10 remaining contestants did their best to prove themselves by taking on the singer’s songbook.

They also got style tips from designer Tommy Hilfiger and Idol stylist Soyon An, and were mentored by Jimmy Iovine and Diddy – who just happens to be judge Jennifer Lopez’s ex.

Keep reading to find out details of Wednesday’s performances and makeovers …

Elise Testone has struggled to get votes but she has the full support of the judges, who gave her a standing ovation after she sang “Vienna.” “She is unbelievably talented,” Randy Jackson said, as if urging viewers to vote. “That run at the end is so difficult, I don’t know any singers who can probably do that.”

They judges also stood for Jessica Sanchez, who sang “Everybody Has a Dream.” “When God was given out vocal chords you were so at the front of the line,” Steven Tyler told her. “Thank you for letting me hear you sing.”

Erika Van Pelt earned excellent marks for her performance of “New York State of Mind” as well as her dramatic makeover. After Hilfiger urged her to shorten her long, blond and red streaked hair, she ended up with a super-short, jet-black do. “It gives me a Pat Benatar vibe,” Jennifer said of her look.

Not everyone took the advice of the celebrity consultants. Hilfiger told Phillip Phillips he needed fashion help and to never wear gray on stage. Diddy told him to drop his guitar. But Phillip sang “Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song)” while playing his guitar and dressed in gray. “You took that song and you Phillip Phillips-ed it,” Steven told him. Randy called the performance “one of the best renditions of that song ever.”

Heejun Han ripped off a black jacket on stage to reveal a colorful outfit, which matched his boisterous performance of “My Life,” but the judges didn’t love his vocals. “At least you had fun,” Randy said.

Hollie Cavanagh struggled with “Honesty” – the judges said she was “pitchy.”

Skylar Laine did her take on Garth Brooks’s take on “Shameless.” She was also deemed “pitchy,” but Steven loved her conviction.

“You’re still one of the greatest singers here,” Randy told Joshua Ledet after he sang “She’s Got a Way.” Jennifer wanted him to connect more with the lyrics.

After Deandre Brackensick sang “Only the Good Die Young,” Jennifer said it was a good start but Randy said, “it didn’t show me anything special.”

Colton Dixon ended the night with a classic: “Piano Man.” You sing with pure feeling,” Jennifer said. “I had goosies from head to toe.”

The top 10 face elimination on Thursday (8 p.m. ET).
