We’ve been saying over and over again, that this is Channing Tatum‘s year. We posted his cheeky EW cover yesterday, along with his Magic Mike crew which had us pretty much fanning ourselves. But that’s just the beginning for Tatum. With Magic Mike releasing next month, everyone wants a slice of the star. The searing photograph you see above is what’s being used as the cover for Out magazine’s June-July issue. The long interview about him is titled, “From Stripper To Superstar” so you know exactly what it’s going to be about, right?

Not quite, because the article opens with a series of quotes that really got our attention. Stuff like, “With Joe Manganiello naked in a movie, I think even straight guys are going to be, ‘Shit, I need to see that. That man is a specimen.’” Or, “Elton John had his hand up my ass the other night.” That probably went down when Elton and Channing got some sexy time on stage sexy dancing on stage at the Revlon Concert for the Rainforest in New York last month. When Aaron Hicklin, the writer, asked what that was like, Channing’s response was, “Like any other hand up my ass, but more knightly. I can check that box now. It falls under the umbrella of doing sexual shit with Elton John in public. I’m sure I’m not the first.” See what we mean? Add to that his hilarious “texture” issues with fruits and vegetables — “F— eggplant — it’s too spongy. I hate spongy stuff.” — and you’ve got yourself a nice little afternoon read.

There’s a little less than a month and a half to go till Magic Mike releases, but preparations are in full swing. And by “preparations”, we mean “promotions”, most of which involves the shirtless, very buff crew of the film. Catch us complaining? Hells to the N.O. Not that we’re objectifying any of the stars. Oh wait … Never mind. The latest round of stripper-tastics comes with the current cover of EW which has the lead player of the movie — Mike with all the magic, himself — Channing Tatum smirking off the page as he unbuttons his shirt.

But this isn’t just any old cover. There’s a bonus inside flap of Channing with Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer, with Manganiello forgoing his wife-beater vest for a pair of suspenders. In the words of our favorite Emma Stone form Crazy, Stupid Love, “Seriously … It’s like you’re Photoshopped!” Because — as the photograph on the right from the shoot illustrates — those abs cannot be for real. The squibs about the shoot revealed sound like a real hoot too. EW says they “brought the group back together for a wet and wild photo shoot followed by a rowdy, booze-soaked dinner, where the costars swapped their best stories about acting, waxing, and baring (nearly) everything in their new film.” We should’ve been invited to that dinner. Hell, we should’ve been invited for the shoot!

From The Huntsman To Agent J: Who Will Be The Hottest Hero Of This Summer?

Is it getting a little warm in here? It’s just the first of May, and we’re already fanning ourselves at our desk after putting together our own special Summer Movie Preview. We’ll leave the talk of comic books, green screens, box-office takes and mega-sequel expectations to some other sites, as we instead do what we do best: concentrate on those beautiful men and women on the big screens. And oh, there are a lot of them this summer. First, let’s take a look at the fine male specimens stepping up to save the world — from aliens, vampires, evil queens and other threats that somehow loom the largest between May and August.

There’s the staple comic book heroes, though you know these days they’re far from typical: Christian Bale reprises his controversial vigilante Bruce Wayne for The Dark Knight Rises, this time (we think) getting a hand from legit lawman John Blake, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt; Andrew Garfield will fight crime as well as our cries of “too soon” in The Amazing Spider-Man; Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr.. will heed the call of Samuel L. Jackson to join forces in The Avengers.

Jackson isn’t the only, er, mature hero earning our admiration this season — Bruce Willis is rocking an impressive body as he plays the original Joe in G.I. Joe: Retaliation. He’s joined by gun-toting (and also armed) Channing Tatum and Dwayne Johnson.

Speaking of military, delightfully uniformed Taylor Kitsch and Alexander Skarsgard will aim their beautiful steely gazes, and weapons, at some unspeakably powerful aliens in Battleship. For some reason, extraterrestrials can only be fought by extremely good-looking humans — like MIB3′s Will Smith and Josh Brolin — or androids like Michael Fassbender in Prometheus. Total Recall’s Colin Farrell and The Bourne Legacy’s Jeremy Renner have equally formidable, if earthly enemies: corrupt government agencies. And at last, there are those fighting more traditional foes, Chris Hemsworth (appearing twice in this gallery) wields his ax against the evil queen in Snow White and the Huntsman, and Benjamin Walker uses muscle as well as rhetorical skills against slave-owning vampires in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Not only are all those superb actors saving the world in the coming months, we bet you a round of mojitos, that they must at some point take off their shirts to do so. Hmm, so which hero’s sweaty, arduous battle are you most looking forward to? Browse through our gallery and then vote. Stay tuned for more tough decisions like this all week long.
