MILEY Cyrus is to be voted TIME magazine’s Person of The Year!
According to Naughty But Nice Rob, TIME editors are furious that their readers think so highly of the Wrecking Ball hitmaker.
“The staff at TIME take this honor very seriously. They are not happy that readers are voting for Miley,” a source said.
“This is what happens when you let the public vote.”
Cyrus recently insisted she doesn’t worry if people think badly of her controversial performances because she knows she is a “good person”.
“I never worry about what I do on stage making me look bad. I think people if they actually knew me would be surprised at how normal I am,” she said.
“I’m definitely crazy but I’m normal. I feel like [I am] socially probably more acceptable than a lot of people in this industry because I’ve just always grown up around this and so I never have any kind of attitude.
“Every time you talk about me, you’re bringing more awareness to me and… my record. If you have good songs I think you can wear anything or do anything, just be able to back it up by what you’re doing.”
Justin Bieber Makes TIME Magazine’s Influential People List
Thursday April 21, 2011
JUSTIN Bieber has been included on TIME magazine’s annual 100 most influential people list.
The 17-year-old pop star will join celebrities including Mark Wahlberg, Bruno Mars, Chris Colfer, Blake Lively, Sting and Amy Poehler on the list and although Charlie Sheen has not been included, Justin admitted the former Two and a Half Men star would be his choice for the number one spot.
“[It] has got to be Charlie Sheen,” Justin said. “He’s got a million followers in one day on Twitter. I’ve never seen that happen before. Plus, he’s got tiger blood, and he’s always winning.”
However, Justin currently has almost nine million twitter followers, while Charlie has just over three-and-a-half million.
The honor comes after a particularly successful year for Justin, which saw him release his debut movie Justin Bieber: Never Say Never 3D and have his second album Never Say Never: The Remixes top the US Billboard charts.
Those individuals who have made the 100 most influential people list will be honoured at the TIME 100 Gala which will be held at Jazz at the Lithe Time Warner Centre in New York on Tuesday.
Celebrities sell, and sex sells: So whoever had the brilliant idea to take naked pictures of celebrities and smack them on their magazine covers must have been made employee of month! For the past twenty years, famous folks of every stripe have stripped down for mainstream publications, giving us quite the eyeful while standing at the checkout line.
The trend has obviously been around forever, but it really kicked into high gear during the ’90s when iconic photos of Demi Moore, Janet Jackson and Cindy Crawford hit the news stands. Those shots appeared on edgier mags back in the day, but now it seems like everyone is getting off on the whole “naked people” bandwagon. Getting nude ain’t just for porn anymore! Kid’s today…
Just this month Kate Hudson graces the cover of Glamour, sans shirt. Who knew that topless was now glamorous!
