If Thomas Beatie – A.K.A “The Pregnant Man” – had his way, there would be a fourth pitter patter of little footsteps running through his home.

“Being pregnant is the most incredible experience,” the 38-year-old father-of-three shares with the Sunday Mirror about expanding his family with new girlfriend Amber Nicholas. “But we want Amber to do it this time around. I think it would be amazing to experience pregnancy as the father.”

“Amber and I are totally smitten. We would love kids ­together and we’re already discussing it,” he adds. “I would love another girl so I have two of each, but any kid is a blessing.”

“It is even possible we could both be pregnant at the same time,” he says. “Amber suggested we both try to get pregnant and whoever gets there first goes through with it.”

“My surgeon has advised against me getting pregnant because it would be a lot ­harder now I’m ­biologically a man,” he says. “I would have to have a ­caesarian, but I’d willingly do it to have ­another bundle of joy.”

The couple plan to use the same sperm donor Thomas used for his existing children – a 6ft blond ­Lithuanian man who has a black belt in Taekwondo – because he wants “all the kids to be related.”

Thomas -  a transgender male who preserved his female reproductive organs – first made headlines in 2007 after photos of his bearded face and pregnant belly were made public.

His ex-wife Nancy – who has two children from a previous marriage – was unable to get pregnant following a hysterectomy so while they were married, Thomas gave birth to all three of their children – Susan, 4, Austin, 3, and 2-year-old Jensen.

Amber is mother to daughters Lauren, 21, and ­Mattison, 15, with her ex-husband.
