Britney Spears at KIIS FM Wango Tango

BRITNEY Spears stepped out for 102.7 KIIS FM’s Wango Tango 2013 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA, USA, Saturday night.

Meanwhile, Spears is head over heels in love with her new boyfriend, David Lucado. And it’s not necessarily a good thing.

According to a new report, the singer has asked David to move with her to Las Vegas — and she’s even telling friends she’s ready to put him on her payroll.

“She isn’t good on her own, and David fills the void left by Jason,” said a source close to Britney, who’s said to be in the final stages of securing a Las Vegas residency.

“She thinks David can manage her calendar… she’ll offer him a sweet deal so he’ll feel obligated to stick around.”

The Voice‘s live shows kick off Monday – and all four celebrity coaches are hoping their carefully selected teams of four talented singers will lead them to victory.

Veteran coach Adam Levine has an all-female team – which fellow judge Usher playfully dubbed “Adam’s Angels” – and includes powerhouse Judith Hill, a background singer who was once Michael Jackson’s duet partner. Sarah Simmons, a rock, soul and blues artist, who gave a command performance of “Wild Horses” in the knockouts, is another favorite.

Fellow veteran Blake Shelton – who has won the competition twice before – has four country artists representing his team, including 16-year-old ingénue Danielle Bradbery, who had never performed before the competition. Another act to watch are the Swon Brothers, who mark the first time a duo has made it to the live rounds since season 1.

New coach – and new momShakira has an eclectic group of four singers, including two she stole in the battle rounds. One of those performers, fellow mom Sasha Allen, gave her coach “goosebumps” and brought her to her feet for her version of “At Last” in the knockouts. The other steal, powerhouse Latina rocker Karina Iglesias, is also a strong contender, even if the judges want her to branch out with her song choices moving forward.

Usher made some surprising choices for his team, particularly when he eliminated fan-favorite soul singer Ryan Innes in the knockouts in favor of aspiring Latina pop star Cathia. But quirky indie rocker Michelle Chamuel, who claims she “represents nerds” in the competition, earned big praise for her high-energy version of “Raise Your Glass” in the knockouts.

It was a strong night of dueling performances for Team Adam and Team Shakira, which are now down to just four acts each after the first night of knockout rounds on The Voice.

Making tough choices with powerhouse singers – no steals, no saves – the judges admitted Monday that playing favorites and saying goodbye was ruining their night. But decisions had to be made.

Amber Carrington beat out quirky duo Midas Whale with a nuanced and powerful turn on Avril Lavigne‘s hit “I’m With You.” Levine called her the “biggest surprise on my team” and said, “Every day we see you continue to blow us away.”

In a second round, Team Adam’s Amy Whitcomb and Caroline Glaser paired off in a tough battle. In the end, Glaser outshined her best pal with a performance of Little Talk’s “Of Monster’s and Men.”

But Levine’s strongest competitor of the night was Judith Hill of Los Angeles. She performed the Willie Nelson classic “Always on My Mind” with professionalism and style. Wearing a brown draped dress, Hill seemed lost in the emotion of the performance that blew away the judges.

“Not only did you pick Adam as a coach … but you do a Willie Nelson song! Why don’t you just come down here and punch me in the face,” Blake Shelton said to Hill, the obvious winner over Orlando Dixon.

“I loved Orlando but anyone who sings against Judith is going to be the underdog,” Levine said afterward.

In Shakira’s rounds, Karina Iglesias bested Monique Abbadie in what their coach called a battle of “powerhouse Latinas.” Iglesias earned some criticism of being predictable as she rocked out to Lenny Kravitz’s “Are You Gonna Go My Way,” growling and commanding the stage with a punk snarl.

Shakira then paired Garrett Gardner, 17, singing Alex Clare’s “Too Close,” against Tawyna Reynolds, 32, who offered a yodel-filled version of the Pistol Annies’s “Hell on Heels.” Reynolds showed plenty of sass, but Gardner, playing his acoustic guitar, offered a bit of soul to a rock performance that was polished and confident.

“I see a star in him,” Shakira said as she picked Gardner to advance.

Perhaps Shakira’s strongest round pitted Sasha Allen against Shawna P. Allen sparkled a white gown as she sang a modernized version of the Etta James classic “At Last.” “You gave me goosebumps twice,” said Shakira, who gave her the round.

“Sasha, you have just positioned yourself as one of the frontrunners in the competition,” Shelton told her.

Others advancing for Team Shakira included Memphis’s Kris Thomas, who won his round over Cuban-born Mary Miranda, who sang an R&B version of Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World.

Team Adam winners Monday included Sarah Simmons, also of Memphis, who came out ahead against Warren Stone of Hannah, S.C.

“Sarah,” Levine said before declaring her the winner for her version of “Wild Horses” by the Rolling Stones, “you wear your heart out there every single time you perform and it’s a beautiful thing to watch.”

The Voice’s Celebrity Coaches Steal Top Talent in Battle Rounds

As the second week of battle rounds began on The Voice Monday, talented singers swapped teams, proving the competition is as tight as it’s ever been.

The night’s soulful finale, pitting Team Usher‘s Orlando Dixon against Ryan Innes made for a rousing and inspired finish. The competitors, matching Innes’s blues prowess against Dixon’s technical mastery of R&B, left no doubt that winning season 4 will be tough.

Singing Bill Withers’s “Ain’t No Sunshine,” the men put on an impassioned show, featuring dueling runs, falsettos and raw emotional power. After much deliberating, Usher chose Innes, praising his conviction and depth, calling him “powerful.”

But Dixon, who ended up in tears as he told Usher that he and his family were struggling financially, had already dazzled Levine, who quickly hit his button for the steal – as a grateful Usher stood up to applaud.

“You are an exceptional talent. I couldn’t allow you to walk off this stage,” Adam said. “Anybody who wants it that bad always has a chance of winning.”

It was not the only steal of the night. Shakira put preacher’s son Luke Edgemon up against Monique Abbadie, a former child star, picking Lady Gaga‘s “Yoü and I” for their duet. Their rock synergy made for a powerful performance and both shined equally.

Levine praised Edgemon, calling him “a big revelation,” while Blake Shelton was also impressed.

“Luke, you put soul into the song and what you did showed me something different about you as a performer,” Shelton said. “You got a career ahead of you, buddy.”

In the end, Shakira chose Abbadie, who seemed blown away by the decision. Blake was delighted and quickly tried to make a steal. But so did Usher. Edgemon, who said he was thinking strategically, moved to Team Blake.

The night’s other tight all-male duet came from New Orleans’s C. Perkins, a stocker and cashier at a grocery store, and Kris Thomas of Memphis. Both R&B singers, they battled on the Bruno Mars hit “It Will Rain.”

At the end, the judges felt both held back. “I still feel like we haven’t seen everything that either one of you can do,” Blake said. Shakira, who eventually picked Thomas, agreed.

But all was not lost for Perkins. At the last minute, Usher provided major drama when he hit the steal button. “I really feel like that he has talent we’ve yet to see,” Usher said.

In other battles, Houston teen Savannah Berry beat Team Blake’s ballerina-turned-musician Jacqui Sandell from Oakland, Calif., singing Little Big Town’s “Little White Church.”

The quirky accordion-guitar duo Midas Whale topped Beale Street power singer Patrick Dodd, who dazzled in a tight contest that showed off his rasp and heart. “It’s like he gargles with broke glass,” Shelton said, calling his decision “one of the hardest ones I’ve had to make in four seasons.”

Vedo, an Atlanta soul singer whose appearances have been inspired by his mother who has stage four lung cancer, won a tight battle for Team Usher against Jessica Childress of Lancaster, Calif., singing Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven.”

And the battle rounds continue Tuesday on The Voice.
