Is another one of Hollywood’s hottest power couples headed for Splitsville? Not according to Will Smith‘s 18-year-old son, Trey, who took to Twitter to dispel the rumors that his father and stepmother, Jada Pinkett-Smith, were calling it quits after 13 years of marriage.
“Did #WillandJada split? No they did NOT split! False information…its not true RETWEET!!!” Trey posted today (August 23), adding, “Everyone can think what they want … even if its not true.”
Will and Jada have since released their own official statement, coming out strong in defense of their marriage, after a report from In Touch Weekly broke the news of their supposed separation. It reads:
Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact.”
A rep for Jada’s HawthoRNe co-star, Marc Anthony, also responded to the report after rumors about an alleged hookup between the two began to spread; rumors that Anthony’s people “unequivocally deny.”
“Enough is enough,” adds the rep. “There are families involved, children involved, friendships involved. This is NOT true.”
Will and Jada were married on New Year’s Eve 1997. The couple have two children together – son Jaden, 13, and daughter Willow, 10. Will’s oldest son, Willard Carrol Smith III, or “Trey,” is from the Men In Black actor’s previous relationship with Sheree Zampino.
