And how similar is Selena Gomez to her racy character in Spring Breakers? Plus could Rebel Wilson be volunteering for The Hunger Games? This plus more on the Jimmy Fallon/Jay Leno Tonight Show shift in today’s Last Lap.
- Emma Stone has finally put paid to rumors that she tweeted a cryptic dig at Shailene Woodley shacking up with boyfriend Andrew Garfield before deleting it. Apparently she was hacked and there’s no drama on the set of Spider-Man 2. Nope. No drama at all. Not even a love triangle…[PerezHilton.com]
- Selena Gomez spoke with MTV News about her hot new film, Spring Breakers, and explained that although she’s a bad girl in the flick, it’s just “a part”. Gomez also talked about how her passion for the project and understanding that she was playing a character helped her feel comfortable.
- Could Rebel Wilson be partaking in The Hunger Games? The funny lady revealed that she might be joining the blockbusters soon as a character from the Capitol. Maybe she can teach Finnick Odair about “mermaid dancing”. [Entertainmentwise]
- It’s looking more and more like Jimmy Fallon will be replacing Jay Leno sooner rather than later. So much so, that it seems Fallon has respectfully reached out to Leno to smooth his transition into The Tonight Show hosting gig and Leno’s move to retirement. [Hollywood Reporter]

Fans of The History Channel’s breakout hit, The Bible, noticed this weekend that the character of “Satan” looks an awful lot like a certain Democratic Commander in Chief. The Daily Mail even reported that conservative pundit Glenn Beck fanned the flames of the connection by tweeting, “Anyone else think the Devil in #TheBible Sunday on History Channel looks exactly like That Guy?”
So is it a coincidence or a conspiracy?
The Bible‘s producer, Mark Burnett, hasn’t commented on any political connections to the casting, but did say that “The hand of God was on this…the actors came together perfectly.” So, it remains a divine mystery.
One thing that shouldn’t be a mystery is the success of the show. After all, The Bible is one of the most popular series of books of all time with a more fervent fanbase than even Harry Potter can boast. As a fan of The Bible book series, I have to say I was confused by the casting for Satan since I always pictured him less as a black Muslim human being and more as a red skinned demonic force from Hell. But hey, we all see characters differently in our heads. I mean, there are still some Hunger Games readers who insist that “dark-skinned” Rue was white.
The Bible airs Sunday nights on The History Channel. Someone drop me a line if they’re going to do a faithful adaptation of “The Song of Solomon” chapter.

There’s no drama Down Under.
Following speculation of a possible split between Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, the Hunger Games actor was photographed with friends in Australia on Saturday.
In the photos, Hemsworth is seen enjoying a beverage and hanging out.
A source recently told PEOPLE that Hemsworth, 23, flew home on March 1 so the engaged couple “could have a break,” adding, “It doesn’t mean that they have split. Miley says they are still together.”
Meanwhile, recently Cyrus was photographed leaving an L.A. recording studio without her engagement ring.
But while a source close to Cyrus says that “Miley and Liam have had some problems that they are working through,” the person adds that Hemsworth’s trip to Australia was planned.
However, the source says, “[He] doesn’t have a return date to Los Angeles yet.”

Why is this cool even though we realize it’s a marketing tool? Because it’s a pretty cool marketing tool and because anything to do with The Hunger Games makes us salivate. Admit it, you’re as curious about the Capitol Portraits as we are. A new “portrait” will be released intermittently until Catching Fire releases in November. And judging by the name, they will all be portraits of members of the Capitol. The series kicks off with a striking image of Elizabeth Banks‘ character, Effie Trinket and the look seems to be far more stylized than the previous film. Besides, we’re totally digging the saturated, yet vintage feel of this portrait. Any guesses to who’ll be next? Seneca Crane? Caeser Flickerman?
