TOM Hanks reimbursed a couple who didn’t like his latest movie Larry Crowne.
The actor was filling up his car at a gas station near his Pacific Palisades home in California when he was approached by a man who revealed he had recently seen the star’s latest cinematic effort — in which Tom plays a man in his 50s who decides to go back to college — and wasn’t impressed.
According to National Enquirer magazine, the Hollywood star apologized by taking $25 from his wallet and saying,”Gee, I’m really sorry you were disappointed. How about letting me refund your ticket money?”
When the delighted fan accepted the money, Tom said his goodbyes adding, “We’ll do a better job next time.”
The criticism is sure to have been a disappointment to Tom — who also directed the movie — as he recently revealed making it was a “personal mission”.
“I tell you, it takes it out of you,” he said. “Both That Thing You Do and this, they take a long time to develop and it just percolates in your head until you get to the point where you say to yourself, ‘I don’t want to give this up. I don’t want to give this over to anybody else.’
“It’s like a very personal mission that you just find yourself on.”
Dwayne Johnson is Back as The Rock! Hollywood Star Dwayne Johnson is Returning to Wrestling!
Tuesday February 15, 2011
DWAYNE Johnson is returning to wrestling!
“The most electrifying man of all of entertainment is hosting the most electrifying event of all of entertainment!” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced Monday.
The wrestler-turned-movie star made a dramatic appearance at WWE Raw to declare that he will host WrestleMania XXVII on April 3 in Atlanta.
Johnson — who established himself as a well-known wrestler — left the sport in 2004 to pursue a film career.
Since then, he has become a bankable star, not only in action movie’s like The Mummy Returns and The Scorpion King, but family films Race to Witch Mountain and Tooth Fairy.
Johnson recently revealed he wants to star in Sylvester Stallone’s upcoming Expendables sequel.
“It all depends on the material. I’ve known Sly for a long time now and he’s a buddy of mine so it all depends on the material,” he said.
Dwayne also insisted he is grounded and prefers to be “nice” than come across as “self-absorbed”.
“Not only do I think being nice and kind easy but being kind, in my opinion, is important,” he said.
“It’s easy to be a bad ass, it’s easy to act like a bad ass, easy to act like a tough guy, it’s easy to be a diva, and it’s easy to be self absorbed. I always just find it more important to be nice and kind.”
