Jim Carrey, how could do this to us? If we didn’t know better, we’d think you were trying to erase any hope we have in your triumphant return to stardom. First you made that weird fan video for Emma Stone, then we find out you haven’t been visiting Jenny McCarthy‘s autistic son. We were seriously considering not bringing up those two things all the time as exemplars of our disappointment in you, but now we find out you are bailing out of the Dumb & Dumber sequel? According to ETOnline, Carrey dropped out of the film after growing “increasingly frustrated by New Line and Warner Brothers, who he felt showed a lack of enthusiasm regarding the project.” Plus we find out it was going to be called Dumb And Dumber To? You know how much we would have loved that! There had better be a Liar, Liar 2 on the horizon, or we are going to lose our minds.

“I would have thought Dumb and Dumber To was a no-brainer, after all it’s implied in the title,” Carrey told ET after confirming the story. Without Jim, we’re assuming the movie is a no go. If not, they might as well reuse the cast from the Dumb & Dumberer prequel, which Jim wasn’t even in. Eugene Levy isn’t much of a replacement, Mr. Carrey; we hope you know that. The man is great, but he’s not that great!
