Another one bites the … water?
Splash star Nicole Eggert is the latest celebrity to sustain an injury while participating in the reality diving competition.
The former Baywatch star was hospitalized Thursday after a botched high-dive, TMZ reports. The 41-year-old reportedly attempted a dive with multiple backflips but crashed into the water, back first.
EMTs rushed to pull her out of the pool according to TMZ, and doctors monitored her for internal injuires, particularly to her kidneys, after the crash.
Last month, Eggert was minorly hurt while attempting a handstand into a dive. It “scared the crap out of me,” she told PEOPLE.
The ABC diving show has featured a series of dramas and mishaps, starting with Chuy Bravo leaving the series after hurting himself. Then Kendra Wilkinson quit the show after being unable to continue and Rory Bushfield ruptured an ear drum in a practice dive.
Most recently, beauty queen Katherine Webb left the competition due to injury.

Most of us know Sarah Hyland as Modern Family‘s perpetually annoyed, ever-so-slightly dim Hayley Dunphy. In real life, however, Sarah is much more than an eye-rolling brat with a heart of gold; she’s the optimistic survivor of an (until recently) secret kidney transplant. “You know that family is always going to be there for you – no matter what. My dad gave me a freakin’ kidney!,” Hyland tells the new issue of Seventeen. The actress received the transplant on April 13 after a grappling with a lifelong case of kidney dysplasia. Adding Sarah, “But it’s also the families that you create outside of your family. And you really find out what kind of people you’re friends with.” We totally agree with you, girl, but also…score in the dad department! If it had been Phil Dunphy, he’d probably have accidentally dropped his kidneys down the trash compactor. Or traded them in for a llama.
Hyland scored yet another win (besides the awesome dad and organ compatibility), this time in the boyfriend department. “He helps me with my medication and takes me to doctor appointments and all the stuff that I need to do to take care of myself,” Sarah says of actor Matt Prokop, who guest starred as a potential love interest for Hayley on last week’s episode. “Any other 21-year-old guy would not be there, I guarantee it. I am one of the luckiest people in the world to have him be there for me.” Awww! It’s like the end of every episode of Modern Family up in here, just with more invasive surgery.
