The ladies of The Real Housewives of Orange County are back on Bravo at 9pm ET/PT. Mother-of-three Alexis Bellino says we should expect “a lot” this season. “There are friendships that change, new alliances formed, friendships fall apart,” says the 35-year-old blonde beauty.
Alexis opens up to Celebrity Baby Scoop about her son James, 5, and 3 year-old twin daughters Melania and Mackenna and her hopes for baby No. 4. The reality TV starlet also talks about BFF Gretchen Rossi, her “rocky start” with the new girl Heather Dubrown and her frenemies Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Vieth-Barney. Read on about her “hilarious” Valentine’s Day plans and how she’s safeguarding from the “7-year itch” with husband Jim Bellino.
CBS: What can we expect in the upcoming season of RHOC?
AB: “The first episode was really about getting back into the groove, getting to know the ladies, hearing about where we are in our lives. There’s not a lot of drama, it’s more like the catch-up episode.
There’s so much going on this season! I have a new endeavour that is brought into the picture. It’s a celebrity lifestyle correspondent role at Fox News in San Diego on Friday. I do the health and beauty segment. Throughout the season there are friendships that change, new alliances formed, friendships fall apart. There’s a lot going on. I’ll just say that these changes aren’t anything you would normally expect.”
CBS: Who are your best friends and frenemies on the show?
AB: “I’m still friends with Gretchen [Rossi]. The new girl, Heather [Dubrow], and I got off to a rocky start. But I feel like by the end of the season, it will have mellowed out. But then again, you never know who’s talking about you behind your back. Tamra [Vieth-Barney] and I are still the same as last year, nothing’s changed there. But Vicki [Gunvalson] and I are trying to put a new foot forward and get along. We’re trying to see the good in each other and ask, ‘What are we even fighting about?’ “
CBS: Coming from the land of plastic surgery, have you had any work done?
AB: “I got a rhinoplasty done this season. It started because I’ve had severe sinus issues for 3 or 4 years. So he went in and I had a rhinoplasty on camera for everyone to see. I’m sure it will be a lovely episode for me. My makeup can’t cover that one up!”
CBS: Tell us about your young kids.
AB: “James is 5, and my twin daughters Melania and Mackenna are 4. And now I’m pushing for another one! I need one more. I’m 35 and my husband is turning 50. I can see why he doesn’t want any more, but I can also see why I do. I just want one more.”
CBS: What if you had twins again?
AB: “Let’s not go there! Let’s not even mention that as being a possibility. If it happens, it happens. But now they’re 4, and God does something to you where you forget all the hard stuff like not sleeping through the night for 6 months and so on. All I can think about right now is how easy my kids are now and how I can’t wait to have another one.”
CBS: So we’ll be on baby bump watch this season?
AB: “Definitely not this season, but maybe next. My husband is still on the ‘no’ boat and I have to get him on board.”
CBS: Tell us about your dress lines.
AB: “I have two dress lines right now which are doing amazing. And I would love to have my own fragrance one day.”
CBS: Do you have any Valentine’s Day plans?
AB: “This is hilarious, but I haven’t had a facial in 5 months because of how busy I’ve been and I’m getting a peel done on Valentine’s Day. So my husband and I and two other groups of our friends are going to celebrate Valentine’s Day on the 25th because I will not be in any condition to go out for Valentine’s Day. I guess that’s what happens after 7 years of being married!
My husband and I try to keep the romance alive year-round. We’ll take bubble baths together, or he’ll go shopping for me which I think is so amazing because he knows my clothing size and he’ll bring home something that fits me well and that I wouldn’t pick off the rack. And he loves it when I make him breakfast in bed or do little things. We both know our ‘love language’ and what we need from each other. But this is our 7-year itch and we’re having to pump it up a little bit. I don’t want to fall into that rut.
We still do date nights. We used to do two a week where we’d go out early from 5-7 p.m. and still come home to put the kids to bed. And one night with our friends from 7-10 p.m. But now we’re down to one night a week just because we’re so busy. But every night we spend about 20 minutes just catching up with each other on what’s going on for that day.”
