Chris Brown Opens Up About How He Won Rihanna Back After Assault

167eriri 1 Chris Brown Opens Up About How He Won Rihanna Back After Assault

It’s fair to say that most of us were a little surprised when Rihanna resumed a romantic relationship with Chris Brown after their, err, rocky past. And now Breezy is opening up about how exactly he won his way back into Ri’s heart despite some pretty heavy (and sometimes court-appointed) odds.

During an interview with Ryan Seacrest on KIIS-FM yesterday, Brown said that he’s taken responsibility for his past faults. “I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident and that time was probably the worst part of my life and being that she has and she’s a wonderful person I’m eternally grateful and thankful,” he explained.

Despite their apparently happy reunion, he’s well aware of all the haters out there that don’t want to see the two on the same continent, let alone in each others arms! “People are entitled to their opinions. I can’t go around blaming. It’s all about my responsibility and me growing up as a man,” he says. ”I think now that I’m becoming older, and trying to mature in this life under the public eye at all times, I have to focus on doing the right thing and being more of a humble individual.”

Last month the R&B star spoke more about that dark evening in 2009 when the then-19-year-old violently lashed out at his girlfriend. ”That night was the deepest regret of my life, the biggest mistake,” he told The Mirror. “But she loves me – what can I say? I’m forgiven… but, yes, I worked hard for it. Sometimes you row, you fight, with the one you love and things get said, stuff spirals.” Will Rihanna be needing that bridal bikini for her alleged summer wedding to Brown? We shall see!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: Wedding Plans Revealed!

Posted by Adam

25bdAES 0382672 Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: Wedding Plans Revealed!BRAD Pitt and Angelina Jolie are planning one heck of a wedding!

According to a new report, the couple have arranged for their guests to be greeted by “leaping” Shetland ponies.

Brad and Angelina are expected to tie the knot at their French estate Chateau Miraval, which boasts its own chapel, at the end of May and their lavish plans for the big day also include topiary elephants cut into the grounds, with each one representing a member of the family.

“Guests will travel past water fountains and Shetland ponies leaping as they go up the two-mile long drive to the house,” said Lucille Michele, the couple’s wedding florist.

“When the guests park, they’ll see the family of elephants. Brad hopes it will make them smile. Apparently, the elephants were the children’s idea.

“They want the wedding to take place just before sunset, so that as they say their vows the church will fill with fabulous red, orange and yellow light. The lawns have all got new sprinkler systems in, so they’ll be green and lush for the big day. Brad  wants the guests to say, ‘Wow’ the moment they sweep through the gates.”

Brad is taking a very hands on approach to the planning, and is particularly keen that his big plans for the grounds of the estate provide a legacy that will last for generations to come.

“Brad flew in two weeks ago and has given a team of eight gardeners very specific clean-up plans, along with planting instructions that he drew up himself … Brad wants what they plant to help local wildlife for generations to come,” Lucille explained.

“He’s spending in the region of £30,000 on flowers and says they’ve decided no cut flowers, just planted wild ones, so that in the future, their great-grandchildren can see where they made a promise to each other.”

Celebrity event planner and chef Linnea Johansson knows how to throw a party. She’s worked with such A-list stars as Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon and Justin Timberlake and released her second book, Perfect Parties – Tips and Recipes from a New York Party Planner in October. Now she’s lending her expertise to PEOPLE.com with two blogs geared toward your holiday party planning. Cheers!

This holiday season, why not incorporate one of the newest food trends?

Three words: Meatballs are back. First came the BBQ craze, then the burger trend and now meatballs are making their own comeback. Meatballs are great at parties – they offer many varieties from many nationalities, easy finger food and who doesn’t love a meatball?

A little fun meatball gossip: I have planned quite a few parties where Donald Trump’s been a guest. He loves Swedish meatballs, and with me being born in Sweden and all. I had to of course make my grandmother’s Swedish meatballs for him. (Scroll down for the recipe!)

It’s always fun to surprise guests a bit, and give them a fun twists on food and something a bit unexpected. This holiday season, I am all about boozy donuts. The best part is that you actually shoot in your favorite drink into the donuts.

Boozy Donuts with Creme Brulee Topping

Donuts are the new cupcakes, and this is an easy way to spruce-up a plain, store-bought donut from afternoon snack to fun dessert.

• 6 sugar-covered donuts
• ½ cup of sugar
• 3 oz. liqueur of choice

Heat the donuts in the oven at 250 degrees for 5 minutes.

Pour the sugar on a plate, brush the top of the warm donuts with water and dip in the sugar.

Then, after filling a small turkey baster or cake decorating tool with the liqueur, insert the tool in multiple spots in the bottom of the donuts and inject the booze.

Tip! Everyone likes to watch when there’s fire involved. So if you have a brulee torch, burn the sugar on top of the donuts until it becomes a hard sugar topping. Let your guests watch – you’ll look like a pro and their mouths will be watering just in time for a warm donut!

When throwing parties, I always like to batch up cocktails so people don’t get stuck behind the bar too long. When entertaining at home and you don’t have help, it’s a must. Pre-making larger pitchers is easiest, and one of my favorite “pitcher drinks” also happens to also be Kim Kardashian‘s.

I put together an event hosted by the Kardashian sisters in L.A., and we wanted to make a signature drink for each sister. For Kim, I heard her favorite cocktail was a drink called Xante Berry created by bartender Ricky Broni, so of course we made the drink for the party. After spending the spending the evening drinking KK’s favorite it’s now one of my favorite “pitcher drinks” as well.

Berry Pitcher drink

• 1 ½ oz Xanté
• 1 ½ oz fresh lemon juice
• 1 oz simple syrup
• 3 strawberries

In a pitcher, muddle the strawberries with simple syrup and add the lemon juice, Xanté (which can best be described as a pear cognac).
Let it sit until you’re ready to serve, then add ice, and strain into your guests’ glasses. No mixing necessary.

Tip: Simply take the recipe and multiply by as many cocktails you want to serve; estimate about 10 drinks per pitcher.

Linnea’s family recipe for Swedish Meatballs

This recipe is total Swedish-ness on a plate, and my family has been making these meatballs for generations!

• 1 lb ground beef • 1 garlic clove • 1 yellow onion • 1 egg • ½ cup bread crumbs, non flavored • ½ cup milk • ½ tsp salt • ½ tsp pepper • 2 tbsp parsley • 2 tbsp butter for frying

In a large bowl, grate the onion and garlic on a grater.
To the onion/garlic mixture, add the ground beef and egg.
In a separate small bowl, add the milk and bread crumbs. Let sit for a few minutes until milk is absorbed by the bread crumbs.
Add the bread crumb mixture to the ground beef, with salt and pepper and parsley. Stir.
Place in refrigerator to marinate the flavors for about 30 minutes.
Wet your hands, and roll small approximately 1 inch in diameter meatballs and place on a plate.
Heat a heavy pan on low to medium heat, ad butter and fry to a golden brown for about 7 minutes. Only fry about 1/3 meatball at a time to keep the pan hot. Keep a close eye on them, and turn often to make sure they brown on all sides.

Swedish Meatball Sauce

The secret is definitely in the sauce and you can’t eat Swedish meatballs without a cream meatball sauce.

• 2 tbsp butter • 2 tbsp flour • 2 cups of half and half • ½ vegetable bullion cube • 3 tbsp sherry wine • 1 dash of Worcester sauce • salt and pepper

In the heavy pan, add an additional 2 tbsp of butter, and 2 tbsp of flour. Melt butter on low heat and stir in flour.

Then add 2 cups of half and half, and the vegetable bullion. Stir and heat on medium till simmering.
When simmering, lower heat and ad 3 tbsp of sherry wine. Add 1 dash of Worcester sauce, salt and pepper to taste.

Serve up the sauce with the Swedish meatballs, and of course, for extra Swedish flavor, serve with a spoon or two of lingonberries!

Linnea Johansson Blogs About Making Your Home Party-Ready

Now she’s lending her expertise to PEOPLE.com with two blogs geared toward your holiday party planning. Cheers!

When planning a holiday party or a bash for any time of year, you may want to start with an easy, inexpensive dining room makeover.

Giving your old chairs a new look in no time to spruce up your dining room for the holidays and/or any party occasion. Simply wrap fabric against the back of the chairs and then staple the fabric on the inside of the back … and you have new chair slip covers in a jiffy. This works great at home, and you can easily create a new look for a room.

This trick has saved me many times. I once did an event for the Food Network to honor their stars. There was not much to do on the food end as all the show hosts and chefs sent over their recipes for a menu. The space was beautiful but the chairs I rented arrived in the wrong color. So I had to do a little last minute dining room makeover. My team and I rushed out and got fabric from the office and did a quick makeover for the chairs right before the guests started to arrive.

Light It Like Gere
Most of my clients think I am crazy when I say I want to spend 50% of the decor budget on lighting. I always have to tell them the same story to convince them. When doing a job with Richard Gere and his wife at their restaurant the Bedford Post Inn, they not only had tons of cozy lighting in their restaurant, but also had little pink lights throughout the space. As he has been in countless movies, Richard told me that pinkish-hued lights is a movie set trick and makes everyone look great and at least 10 years younger. I have been using pink lights ever since. Thanks, Richard!

So no matter how lavish or casual the party, lighting is the way to make a regular space look different and sets the mood. For at home entertaining, I start by shutting off all the overhead lights and directing any spotlights at your best looking décor item, whether that’s flower arrangements, the buffet or the dinner table. You can simply buy cheap spotlights and set up for the night, or make votive holders by simply wrapping drinking glasses in decorative paper and taping the back, then add votive candles. Cluster the votives around the area you want to highlight.

DIY Frame-to-Trays
Turning frames into trays is one of my favorite decor tricks, and I have used it at countless events. Simply buy a cheap frame, and frame a decorative fabric or decorative paper. Then you can use it as a serving tray, platter on a buffet or decorative charger under your guest plates – easy and cheap to create. And the best part is, for the next party, you can simply frame something new to match that parties theme. As you can imagine, my office has quite a few frames stacked in it.

Table Decor & Bar in One

I love creating a beautiful flowering punch bowl in the middle of the table; it works like a self-serve bar and great table decoration, all in one. As an extra bonus, you’ll keep the party decor bill down. Slice seasonal fruit or my favorite, edible flowers. You can also freeze the fruit or flowers into a large ice block. Place a few votive candles around the punch bowl and it will sparkle and glow.
