Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka Cover OUT
How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris and his “better half” David Burtka cover the “Love Issue” of OUT and share some of the most intimate images we’ve seen of the couple. They open up about their relationship and their 15-month-old fraternal twins Gideon and Harper.
On deciding to have children together: “Children were always talked about, but there was a certain point — when David was in L.A. and I was working on How I Met Your Mother, maybe season two or three — when we both agreed that if we wanted to have kids, we didn’t want to do it super late in the game. We wanted our parents to enjoy the process and to be young and vibrant enough to throw a ball with them, or to chase them around without using a walker. That was the eternal game-changer — now we rarely fight in the big ways. What’s the point? We’re in this for a major long haul.”
On falling in love with David: “I initially fell for David harder than he fell for me. I was in love with him before he was comfortable saying it, and I think that speaks to our past experiences. I remember saying, “I think I love you,” and he was like, “That’s really nice,” which is not necessarily what you want to hear. But I appreciated his honesty in not jumping the gun and saying something because he felt obliged to.”
On the ups and downs of their relationship: “So we talk things out. I don’t want to paint our relationship like we met and it’s been happy family fantastic-ness ever since. What defines a relationship is the work that’s involved to maintain it, and it’s constantly changing. Sometimes I’m deeply in love with David and head-over-heels, and sometimes I question whether it’s going to work out and is meant to be. It’s like a business relationship, as well as a personal one; we have a business together and that’s maintaining our love for one another.”
David on having kids with Neil: “Even on that first date, we talked about kids. If he hadn’t wanted kids, I don’t think we’d be together. I always thought that family was the most important thing in life, and no matter what I do, whether being a chef or an actor or a dancer, being a dad is what I do best. I am the maternal one in the relationship. For the first year, I didn’t miss a nighttime or morning with them. I think it’s important to have other lives and feed your relationship, but it’s also important that your children are raised by you. We named Gideon after an artist we collect, Gideon Rubin, and Harper after Harper Lee. To Kill a Mockingbird is one of our favorite books.”

NEIL Patrick Harris has opened up about his relationship with partner David Burtka.
In an interview with Out magazine for its annual Love Issue, the actor discusses the ups and downs of their romance.
“There’s something kinetic about him and his being. He’s classically sexy, yet he’s very much a boy in his energy. It’s a great dynamic,” Harris, 38, writes of Burtka.
“When I see people who are equally attractive, they tend to seem quiet and kind of Marlboro Man-y, and David’s the antithesis of that. He’s more like Tigger. I’m, in turn, very introspective – the thinker, rather than the doer. … We’re hyper similar and also incredibly opposite.
“Sometimes I’m deeply in love with David and head-over-heels, and sometimes I question whether it’s going to work out and is meant to be.
“I’m not the biggest fan of the word ‘partner’: It either means that we run a business together or we’re cowboys.
“‘Boyfriend’ seems fleeting, like maybe we met two weeks ago. I’ve been saying ‘better half’ for as long as I’ve been able to. I think it’s a little self-deprecating and clearly defines that we’re in a relationship, but it would be nice to say ‘my husband.’ ”
Of Harris, Burtka writes, “Without him, I can’t breathe. The biggest thing is that he makes me laugh, but he’s also smart. He can do everything. I’m not kidding; I think he’s half robot. He makes me a little more grounded, and I bring out the wild side in him.
“It’s more good times than bad, but it’s not always good.”

RIHANNA and Chris Brown have secretly been hooking up for nearly a year.
According to Us Weekly magazine, the former couple “meet up very casually.”
“She comes to see him anytime she’s in L.A. They can’t get enough of each other. I don’t see it ending well,” said the source.
“Rihanna loves to live dangerously, and talking to and hooking up with Chris is all part of that.”
Sources recently revealed how Rihanna has been ordered by doctors to curb her partying lifestyle.
“Rihanna is running on empty but she’s still been going out drinking and living it up,” a source said.
“She doesn’t have any down time where she can completely relax. She spends most of her time in the studio, on stage or in clubs. Doctors are worried she’s overdoing it.
“She needs to take some time off. Otherwise she’ll be vulnerable to more illness.”

Adam Lambert Dresses Down For Tonight Show
Adam Lambert has said that his upcoming album, Trespassing, will be “an exciting journey through the past two years of my life.” Our first taste of that has come by way of his first single, “Better Than I Know Myself,” a mid-tempo ballad that features his signature confessional lyrics and soaring notes. But after he performed it live for the first time on The Tonight Show last night, we are curious about something: Was his completely toned-down outfit, a black tux and a white shirt with no tie (pictured right), a sign of things to come?
