Oooh, we know why Jay-Z’s giving us that look right now. Because we dared think the blasphemous thought that at the Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year Awards last night, Beyonce was not the best-dressed lady in the house. We get that B’s oversized red suit — worn without a blouse and no doubt a lot of double-stick tape — was on trend, but it also kind of reminded us of something our moms used to wear to business meetings. Meanwhile, Savannah Brinson, whose fiance LeBron James was receiving the titular award, was slamming in a purple Emilio Pucci dress that emphasized all of her assets. Here’s another look at them (and another glare from Hov):
Are we allowed to think such thoughts? Well, maybe Beyonce dressed down on purpose, so as not to steal the spotlight from her friend. Which would make us love her even more. Sometimes, being the most stylish lady in the room isn’t being the most gracious.
Speaking of love, how adorable are LeBron and his longtime love Savannah in this Instagram from last night?

Walter Iooss Jr./Sports Illustrated
All hail King James!
LeBron James is Sports Illustrated‘s 2012 Sportsman of the Year.
“He was the most dominant athlete this year – MVP of the NBA regular season, MVP of the NBA playoffs, led the Heat to the NBA championship and Team USA to the gold medal in London,” Paul Fichtenbaum, Editor of Time Inc.’s Sports Group tells PEOPLE.
At just 27, the eight-time NBA All-Star and former all-time leading scorer of the Cleveland Cavaliers joins athletes including his teammate Dwayne Wade, Brett Favre, Michael Phelps, Derek Jeter and Drew Brees.
“The intangibles [James] brought to the court were significant in leading his teams to victory. He was a selfless player, doing whatever it took to will the Heat and Team USA, making all of his teammates better,” Fichtenbaum says.
But it was more than his athleticism that led to James being honored. The basketball player – who is dad to LeBron Jr., 8, and Bryce, 5, with finacée Savannah Brinson – established a program to benefit children in Akron, Ohio.
Fichtenbaum says: “The program he built and developed in [the] Akron school district for young kids had a profound effect on children who ordinarily might fall through the cracks of an educational system,” he says. “He didn’t just lend his name to a cause, he was directly involved.”

Usain Bolt: Birthday Boy! “Lightning Bolt” Sprinter Turns 26 Today!

Tuesday August 21, 2012
TODAY, Tuesday, August 21 2012 is a very special day for sprinter Usain Bolt – it’s his 26th birthday!
The Jamaican sportsman, widely regarded as the fastest person ever, is the first man to hold both the 100 meters and 200 meters world records since the start of fully automatic time measurements. Along with his teammates, he also set the world record in the 4×100 meters relay. He is the reigning Olympic champion in these three events, the first man ever to win 6 Olympic gold medals in sprinting, and a five-time World champion. He was the first to achieve a “double double” by winning 100 m and 200 m titles at consecutive Olympics (2008 and 2012), and topped this through the first “double triple” (including 4x100m relays).
His 2009 record breaking margin for 100 m, from 9.69 (his own previous world record) to 9.58, is the highest since the start of fully automatic time measurements.
His achievements in sprinting have earned him the media nickname “Lightning Bolt”.
Meanwhile, Bolt has been sounded out by Shane Warne and will turn out for the Melbourne Stars in the Twenty20 competition, Britain’s Guardian reports.
BBL project manager, Mike McKenna has said he would need assurances the sprinter was being picked on merit and not as a novelty to attract spectators and television viewers.
“We’d be very keen to have someone like Usain Bolt involved in some way in the BBL,” McKenna said. “He’s very keen on cricket, he’s been close to the Australia cricket team and I’d imagine he is pretty quick between the wickets.
“But we would want to make sure that any athletes can play another code to an appropriate level. The competition has gone beyond the novelty factor.”
Bolt responded, telling Australia’s Channel Nine: “If I get the chance I will definitely try because I know it’s going to be a lot of fun. I don’t know how good I am. I will probably have to get a lot of practice in.”

Mickey Rouke on Raising Money For Gay Rugby Player Movie
Posted by Adam
Monday July 16, 2012
MICKEY Rourke admits he’s found it “very difficult” to raise money for his movie about gay rugby ace Gareth Thomas.
The actor will play the Welsh sportsman in an upcoming drama, which he admits has been plagued with financial difficulties.
“We’re going to be ready to shoot in February. We have probably 80 per cent of the money. It’s been very difficult because it’s not a comic book, it’s not a romantic comedy. It doesn’t fall in that category to raise money for,” he said.
“Really, it’s been difficult but two years to get a movie up and going isn’t bad so I’ve got nothing to complain about.
“Gareth’s done me a big favor. They were throwing a lot more money at him than I offered him for his story but I got there first… He’s trusted me with writing the script (and) there’s a lot of personal stuff in there that could borderline be embarrassing or difficult to understand… (but) I love the guy.
“I had met some rugby players from Huddersfield and they gave me a team magazine. There was an article about Gareth in it, and I thought, ‘Wow, a rugby player who’s gay — that’s gotta be brutal!’ And to come out while you’re still playing and to deal with being in such a tough sport (is commendable).”
