Tony Danza (or maybe Judith Light) may have been the boss on Who’s The Boss, by Alyssa Milano was always the best. For those of you 90s babies out there, the gorgeous grownup actress that we all know today got her start as the adorable Samantha Micelli on the long running sitcom. Teen super-stardom soon followed, complete with a record deal, made for TV specials starring Jason Bateman, and shoulder rubbing with a baby Neil Patrick Harris, Corey Feldman and other Reagan-era royalty. Don’t believe us? We’ve got the evidence right here! She’s long since moved on to more “adult” roles on screens small and large. She appeared for two seasons on Melrose Place before finding a new generation of fans as Phoebe Halliwell on Charmed. Most recently, she was one of the approximately three billion A-listers who appeared in the rom-com to end all rom-coms, New Years Eve. It’s hard to believe, but Alyssa turns 40 years old today! To celebrate, we’ve decided to take a look back at 20 awesome throwback photos from her Who’s The Boss era. Enjoy!

Kristen Stewart Doesn’t Get Off on Fame

KRISTEN Stewart insists she doesn’t “get off” on being famous.

The actress –  who has reconciled with boyfriend Robert Pattinson after cheating on him with married director Rupert Sanders — has become a more open person since the Twilight Saga franchise propelled her to international stardom, but won’t give up her personal life for the sake of her public image.

“The spotlight is not something I get off on,” Kristen said. “You can’t let it stunt you.Though, that’s the thing. It’s a huge change that I’ve definitely noticed within myself from the beginning to the end of this — that I’m more comfortable with walls being down.

“Because you can actually have human experiences and not deprive yourself of a normal life. You get too caught up in what other people think of you, then who the f**k are you? You start to become a really disjointed persona and everyone’s perception is their own.

“If you’re considering other people’s opinions about your life, that they really know nothing about, you are going to live a very disjointed, really unsatisfying, awful existence.

“You should probably be a bit more concerned about how you feel about yourself. It sounds completely cliche, but it’s true, so you probably shouldn’t think about it.”

The hunky British actor says his global super-stardom can take its toll.

“Maybe I didn’t even have any sanity to begin with!” Rob said when asked if he’d lost some of his sanity over the years,

“I feel like that has happened a little bit.

“I’ve seen a lot of people dealing with fame and they go crazy quickly and it’s frightening.”

Nicole Scherzinger The Latest Pop Star To Break Our Hearts With Struggle With Bulimia, Self-Harm

In case the recently clusterbleep about Lady Gaga’s weight hadn’t tipped you off already, today’s lady singers feel an immense pressure to be thin. Probably even more so when they have to function as both a vocalist and a burlesque dancer, like former Pussycat Dolls‘ singer Nicole Scherzinger. In her upcoming Behind the Music special airing October 7, the “Don’t Cha” singer opens up about the disordered eating and self-harm that have accompanied her pop stardom. As you can imagine, it’s pretty brutal.

“It’s embarrassing. I never spoke about it. Like I said, I never want to play a victim, and I never wanted my family to hear about things from me because I think it would break their heart, you know,” Nicole reveals. “I guess it was like my addiction, right? I never did drugs, but kinda doing things to myself was my addiction. It’s like when I got off stage, I was on this high, and I’d come back to my room and I’d be alone, so I would just do things. My bulimia was my addiction; hurting myself was my addiction.” Ugh…we feel genuinely guilty for liking “Buttons” while Nicole was going through all this. We know that kind of random guilt doesn’t help anyone, but that’s just how we feel.

Having joined the Pussycat Dolls in 2003, Scherzinger’s battle with self-destructive compulsions apparently went on “everyday for, like, years. Every time I had a second to be alone, I was doing something to myself.” As Scherzinger admits now, “You get, like, blisters on your hands or scars on your hands, and I’d try to hide those. I think the girls could tell.” Oh god. Well, as hard as it must be, we give major kudos to Nicole for opening up about her struggle. It takes a strong woman to talk about it openly, let alone live through it.
