Jessica Chastain Reveals Her ‘Embarrassing’ Encounter with Meryl Streep

Jessica Chastain has a fan bottom of her own, and it’s only flourishing with her new Oscar nod.
But her rising star aside, The Help singer – and first-time hopeful for her ancillary purpose in the duration play – says she still gets star-struck.
“I do it all the time, every time we accommodate a famous person,” Chastain, 30, tells Vanity Fair in its Hollywood-themed Feb issue. “I’m such a geek.”
So which actor did Chastain have a blush-worthy run-in with while she was starring in a play in New York? None other than maestro heading lady Meryl Streep.
“I was in the run with some friends of mine, and we demeanour over, and we said, ‘Is that Meryl Streep?’ ” she recalls. “And as we said it, she incited around and started walking toward me.”
That was the impulse “everything got kind of foggy,” she says.
“She went, ‘Jessica,’ and she grabbed my hands and she was observant beautiful things about the play and my performance.”
Chastain’s self-proclaimed “embarrassing” reaction? “Because we was so repelled by it, all we did was we hold her hands and went, ‘Thank you, appreciate you. It means so most to me that you came,’ ” she says. “And we walked away.”
It’s not the initial time Chastain embraced her middle fan girl. At the Palm Springs International Film Festival progressing this month, the singer started crying when she met Gary Oldman.

Dr. William Petit Faces Family Killer: ‘Evil Does Live Among Us’

At the grave sentencing for the male who murdered his mother and daughters on Friday, Dr. William Petit addressed the probity for the second time in 13 months.
“Evil does live among us and we need to absolved the universe of it,” he told the court. “My only wish is for probity to be served.”
Explaining the impact of the detriment of his family, Petit told the court, “I have a formidable time sleeping and guileless anymore. we wish to continue honoring my family.”
“I could go on for hours and hours,” he said during his 18-minute address. “What do we miss? What has the impact been? we skip the whole family – our home, all we had together as a group.”
While a jury condemned Joshua Komiserjevksy, 31, to genocide final month for his purpose in the murders, Superior Court Judge Jon Blue did not strictly levy the judgment until Friday’s hearing.
The other defendant, Stephen Hayes, was condemned to genocide in Dec 2010.
They were convicted of holding the Petit family warrant for hours before environment the residence on glow on Jul 23, 2007. Dr. Petit’s wife, Jennifer-Hawke-Petit, 48, was strangled to genocide and his daughters, Michaela, 11, and Hayley, 17, died of fume inhalation.

Octavia Spencer woke adult to some pleasant news: The dermatitis star of The Help is adult for Best Supporting Actress at this year’s Academy Awards, it was announced early Tuesday.
“It’s numbing!” Spencer, who won a Golden Globe for her purpose as Minny Jackson in the film, told PEOPLE of her nomination. “There were no guarantees. we didn’t think we was in it and then they said my name and it was just a whine of relief.”
Once it sinks in and she has time to honour associate hopeful Melissa McCarthy – “I’m just going to call her and do a drive-by today,” she says. “I’m anxious for her!” – Spencer, 42, will have some decisions to make about what to wear on her big night.
“For me, it’s about comfort and looking good for you,” she says of her approach to fashion. “I don’t need to wear a dress that a size-two lady can wear. we don’t need to show a lot of skin. we have some-more skin than a size-two woman!”
Spencer also believes in sauce to agree her fuller figure. “It’s just about accentuating the positives and blurring the negatives,” she says. “I wish to intensify the certain which would be disruption – even yet it’s saggy cleavage, it’s cleavage! – and give myself an hourglass.”
So which designers are on her brief list? Tadashi, David Meister and Adrianna Papell, to name a few. Add accessories engineer Judith Leiber and jeweler Neil Lane.
“I’m all about being constant to the people who gave me giveaway garments for the broadside debate when there was zero in it for them. … we love it that the other people are clamoring but when we indispensable something, they weren’t there,” says Spencer, who appreciates that these designers “really know how to cut for some-more soothing figures.”
“My mom always taught us to dance with the one that brought you,” she adds, “so I’m going to dance with the ones that brought me.”

After receiving an Oscar assignment for Best Supporting Actress, The Artist‘s heading lady Bérénice Bejo needs time to let it all penetrate in.
“I feel like someone has crushed my conduct and we haven’t unequivocally satisfied it yet,” Bejo, 35, told PEOPLE from her home in Paris Tuesday afternoon, just hours after the nominations were announced. “It’s crazy!”
It was double the pleasure for the desirable French singer as her husband, Michel Hazanavicius, nabbed a Best Director assignment for The Artist. His silent black-and-white film perceived a sum of 10 Academy Award nominations.
With all the hugging, kissing, shouts of fun and phones toll off the hook, one chairman at the Bejo-Hazanavicius domicile didn’t know what all the bitch was about: the couple’s 3½-year-old son, Lucien.
“He doesn’t know what Mommy and Daddy do,” she explained. “For him, Michel’s work is saying, ‘Action!’ One time, he came to set [while we was filming a scene] and thought my pursuit was running. He said to me, ‘Mommy’s work is running.’ We haven’t talked to him about the law yet.”
In the meantime, the newly-minted Oscar nominees will lift a potion before the time strikes midnight and it’s behind to their comparatively normal life.
“We’ll definitely open a unequivocally good bottle of booze – my son will have apple extract – and everybody is going to be happy. Then we’ll arise adult at 4 a.m. to give my daughter her bottle,” Bejo says of baby Gloria, innate in September.
“We go buy diapers and milk. Those things keep us unequivocally connected to reality. Then at the same time, critics from all around the universe wish to speak to us. It’s unreal!”
Preparing for the Academy Awards
Luckily, there’s one thing the singer doesn’t have to worry about: her outfit.
“I already know what we will wear. It’s going to be totally opposite from the Golden Globes,” Bejo told PEOPLE. “I had a lot of pressure. It was like, ‘Bérénice, you have to collect out your dress,’ and we said, ‘Well, we don’t know if we are going to the Oscars.’ [But] I’m not superstitious, so final week we was like, ‘Let’s go and try on dresses.’ ”
What can we design to see on the red carpet? “I can’t tell you. It’s a surprise,” she said with a laugh. “It’s like Christmas. You don’t wish to know until the big day.”
One chairman Bejo hopes to have the possibility to discuss one-on-one with that dusk is Meryl Streep.
“I just venerate her,” she says. “To me, she’s a goddess. we wish we could speak to her for 5 mins and tell her how most we love her. we wish to see her win the Oscar.
