Last January, Brooke White made her behaving entrance in the FOX TV film Change of Plans, revelation PEOPLE, “the thesis of the film is astonishing things come into your life, and those astonishing things are the best.”
This year, that thesis comes by for White as she makes another entrance — as a first-time mom!
White, 28, the deteriorate 7 American Idol finalist famous for her balmy vocals and piano skills, is awaiting her initial child in May with father Dave Ray.
“We’re so excited,” White tells PEOPLE. “By the time the baby’s born, we’ll have been married 8 years. we met Dave when we was 19 years old — we’ve been together a unequivocally prolonged time, and we’ve always wanted to be parents.”
White initial suggested her pregnancy on Dec. 16 by her blog Brookie Babble in a lovable video post with her rubbing her stomach and holding an vehement leap.
“My baby’s been a gem to me already,” says White. “I unequivocally haven’t slowed down since anticipating out the news in September. But we kept it a tip until about dual weeks ago. As White describes, “I was laying down in bed and had the sniffles. we had my palm complacent on my stomach and boom, we felt the flog on my hand, and she did it 5 times. That was over one of the coolest feelings we have ever experienced!”
At 12 weeks, White and Ray were told they were awaiting a girl, but will know for certain soon.
“So I’ve been shopping little outfits and we can hardly enclose my excitement,” White says, “but honestly — and we honestly meant this — if my little lady decided to change her mind and turn a boy, I’d be stoked either way! I’ll just be happy to have a healthy baby.”
