Why Katherine Webb’s 1,120-Calorie Diet Is Causing Such a Stir

05/23/2013 at 02:20 PM EDT

Former Miss Alabama Katherine Webb – whose looks made headlines this winter while she cheered on her boyfriend, Alabama star quarterback A.J. – shares her daily diet exclusively with PEOPLE in this week’s issue.

“I know I need to pay attention to what I’m eating, and I’ve been eating healthy for about six of seven years now,” says the 5’11″ model, who consumes about 1,120 calories a day.

“Katherine does an amazing job eating three meals and two snacks, fueling her metabolism,” nutritionist Haylie Pomroy tells PEOPLE. But with her workout schedule “she could add at least 600 more healthy calories.”

On a typical menu for Webb: a homemade smoothie for breakfast, a spinach salad with strawberries and almonds for lunch and grilled chicken fingers and sweet potato fries for dinner.

“It’s all about self-control,” Webb, 24, says in PEOPLE’s Most Talked About Bodies issue.

The Splash contestant gets even more regimented as she gears up for a pageant or, more recently, for her Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue debut.

“I cut out any type of bread product, and cake, cookies, bagels,” she says. “When I eat a lot of sugar, I tend to bloat more.”

There are days, however, when Webb allows for a few indulgences. After shoots, “I treat myself to an unhealthy meal sometimes,” she says. “I usually go for all-American buffalo wings and French fries.”

And she works off those guilty pleasure calories by hitting the gym at least three times a week.

“I’m a believer in cardio,” she says. “That tends to trim fat faster than anything for me. And maybe I’ll do free weights one day.”

But overall, “I try my hardest not to stress myself out,” she says. “If I find myself thinking too much about what I eat, then I go crazy.”

Femme Fatales: The 10 Most Kick-Ass Girl Fights

71eagirlfights Femme Fatales: The 10 Most Kick Ass Girl Fights

Oh, girl fights… The phrase itself can conjure images of scantily clad models slapping at each other for sexually exploitive purposes, which is unfair and misleading. For instance, in Fast and Furious 6, Gina Carano and Michelle Rodriguez get to fight each other with insane ferocity that rivals any of the fight scenes that co-stars The Rock and Vin Diesel find themselves in. Pam Grier made her career in the 70s showing up in movies to beat people up. And let’s not forget the Kill Bill films, which are pretty much a collection of brutal battle scenes between women.

The thing is a woman can do any job a man can do, and that includes kicking ass and taking names. Sometimes the only person who can match a warrior woman is another woman. Here are our top ten favorite fight scenes between two (or more) ferocious female fighters.

10) Maggie Cheung vs. Zhang Ziyi in Hero

When Hero was released in 2002, Zhang Ziyi was enjoying international fame as the breakout star of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Maggie Cheung was a Chinese film legend at the top of her game. So, not only is this fight scene beautiful and intense because of the fight choreography, but for Asian cinema fans, it was like watching women on the level of Julia Roberts and Jennifer Lawrence cross swords in an epic showdown to the death.

The stars of the Disney Channel’s Phineas and Ferb have gotten into some “Trouble” with Taylor Swift.

Using clips from the animated series, the Dr. Doof character sings to Perry the Platypus in a cleverly silly mash-up music video set to the pop star’s hit, “I Knew You Were Trouble.”

The video premieres Friday at 8 p.m. ET on the “Gravity Falls” episode.

We’re told the song is a great fit for the relationship between the two characters, as Perry always finds a way to thwart Dr. Doof’s evil plans.

Following the video’s debut, it will be available on the Disney Channel website.
